“Data Egress” is how DDx delivers the data you subscribe to from the Exchange in your organization’s systems. Setting up a secure and efficient data egress pipeline is a critical step to ensure you get the valuable information you need from The Exchange as quickly and securely as possible.
Survey Questions and Responses are delivered in one unified table, fully aligned with the updated Survey Question data model that represents — cleaner, more predictable field names and structure, and consistent across all exports. DDx has also integrated Democracy Works elections data directly into egress, enriching every export with more robust candidate and election information, providing — more context for your team, with no extra work.
Recommended Method: The DDx API
The DDx API is DDx’s recommended and most common method for data delivery. It is a modern, secure, high-speed API designed to move data directly from the Exchange to your organization’s cloud storage, such as an Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 bucket or Google Cloud Storage (GCS).
Data delivers up to once per hour, faster and more reliably at scale. For organizations running large subscriptions or pulling data during high-demand periods, that means more consistent delivery and fewer delays. Additional delivery destinations, including BigQuery and VAN, are coming soon — reach out to our team to ask about current options.
What you need to do
If your organization receives data via the API or processes exported files through custom pipelines, there are changes to how some fields are structured and labeled. Review the updated field documentation and confirm that your pipelines are compatible with the current export format — our team can walk your technical lead through the changes.
